Usanu Theatre Company
Mark C. Hewitt developed a script for Usanu Theatre Company's one-woman performance, Embrace. Devised and directed by Tamara Allen-Cousins and performed by Norwegian actress, Karen Ødemark, the project took Italian writer Franca Rame’s provocative monologues, 'Alice in Wonderless Land' 'and 'Rape' as the starting point for a contemporary production revisiting of these themes. Text was created through an openly collaborative devising process with director and performer.
Embrace was first performed at the Pauper’s Pit, Buxton, as part of a short run at the Buxton Festival Fringe with further performances at the Third Floor Arts Centre, Portsmouth, during July 2006.
