Farmed Out was a first production of a play commissioned by Farnham Maltings for the Upstix/Pride of Place Festival 2006 in Woodbridge, Suffolk. The production was developed as a piece for one actor and four other characters as film projections. Project developed in collaboration with 1157performancegroup.
The piece explored the decline of UK farming and the poetry of ramshackle buildings and industrial rural landscapes. As well as writing the text, MCH played the part of Old Spiller in the film sequences.
The piece is being revised for future performances under its original title, Field Work.
